No. Our units are available to anyone over 55. Our residents are a mix of long term Torquay locals and people who move to Torquay to be closer to family.

The Torquay Esplanade is an easy 1 km walk from the Village

In our immediate neighborhood, there is a convenience store, a greengrocer and several fast food outlets. It is a 20 minute walk to Gilbert St, the main shopping street in Torquay. With our central location, residents can access many local amenities by mobility scooter if they can no longer drive.

Our Village is quite secure. Residents can go on extended holiday, knowing their unit will be monitored by staff.

Unfortunately, Lions Village Torquay does not allow residents to keep pets. This is a decision that was made in conjunction with residents.

Lions Village Torquay only offers independent living. We do not provide any aged care services. We are located next door to an aged care facility, although we are separate businesses.

Our Village was built as a community project by the Lions Club of Torquay, opening in 2001. It was the first retirement village built in Torquay, and was adopted enthusiastically by local people who were keen to stay in their community. The Lions Club of Torquay continues to support the Village by providing governance expertise to the Village Committee of Management.
